The Planeteers workshop encourages and strikes an interest in children to think outside the box when it comes to new sustainable technology and the future and present possibilities. By examining the problems that current processes are creating for our natural world, children are guided in looking towards new sustainable solutions and ideas.

The workshop is interspersed with fun facts, games and a class discussion about plastic pollution, longer workshops include a hands on creative activity making a product or art piece from plastic waste.

Documentation of the workshop, for promotional or resource purposes, in the form of a small documentary film (1-2mins).

Curriculum Goals

To promote an ethical understanding around the problem of throw-away consumer society, in the context of social ecology

To encourage critical thinking around solutions to the problem of a throw-away consumer society.

To provide a foundational understanding of sustainable design & technologies by illustrating how waste can be a resource and discussing the circular economy.
